Client: World's 50 Best Restaurants (William Reed)
When Locavore NXT won the Sustainable Restaurant Award at Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025, World's 50 Best commissioned We Do Creative to make the official film. The piece that would introduce the world to Asia's most progressive restaurant across 50 Best's global websites, social channels, and international media, from print to broadcast. The brief: capture what makes Locavore NXT unlike anywhere else on earth, and deliver a full multi-format campaign suite in under three weeks, from first frame to final master.
A Story Rooted in Food, Place, and Human Craft
Locavore NXT isn't a restaurant with a sustainability message. It's a building where sustainability is the architecture. A rooftop food forest, a fermentation laboratory, a mushroom fruiting chamber and underground vault, bee-keeping on site: half a hectare in Lodtunduh where the menu is grown, not delivered. We built the film the way a guest experiences the place: Filmed unscripted with Eelke Plasmeijer and the team behind the project The building as second character, moving from the rooftop jungle down through the lab to the table One production day capturing every format the award campaign needed Commissioned by World's 50 Best Restaurants for the Sustainable Restaurant Award at Asia's 50 Best 2025, the film was built to travel: from 50 Best's global channels to international print and broadcast media.
One shoot. Every format the story needed.
For this project, We Do Creative produced the complete campaign suite for a global restaurant award from a single production day. The main film was delivered in 90-second landscape and portrait editions with English subtitles plus a clean broadcast version, alongside the full director's edit in both orientations, a trending reel, three Instagram Stories built on quick-fire questions with the Locavore NXT team, and high-resolution graded stills for press. Every deliverable was cut for the platform it lives on, not one edit resized ten ways.
Published across World's 50 Best Restaurants' global website and social channels
Distributed to international media across print, online and broadcast
10+ deliverables produced from one shoot day
Final delivery in under three weeks from filming
Locavore NXT has since climbed from No. 92 to No. 44 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026, the first Ubud restaurant ever on the list
Client rated the production 10/10 and returned for further projects
